USS Tahoma Marine Guard

Selecting the USS Tahoma Marine Guard for Living History Presentations

The USS Tahoma Marine Guard is ready for Living History presentations at public schools, private schools, home schools, churches, summer camps, parks, fairs, etc. Presentations will focus on the life and times of the American Civil War. Presentations may occur indoor and/or outdoors depending upon the request. We are able to set up a Civil War Encampment with tents for outdoor education about the Civil War, if desired. Members are prepared to present military (naval & infantry) and/or civilian life in period attire with appropriate equipment to aid in illustrating the Civil War. Many of our members constantly researching Civil War history to present an accurate accounting of the American Civil War.

If you wish to have us bring artillery piece(s) and/or muskets on public school campus, we require a letter of agreement from your school principal giving us permission to bring weapons onto school property. Presentations run approximately an hour to entire day as needed.

If you are interested in the scheduling the Tahoma Marine Guard for a living history event, please e-mail Howard Struve. We are able to discuss stipend for the event based on the type of presentation on a case by case basis.
